Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate,

SPECIAL, ONE-TIME PROGRAMS:

SEASONAL DAYS OF PRAYER IN 2012

     Monday, February 27, 2012 -- 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM

"Meet the One You've Been Waiting for Your Whole Life"
         with Fr. Joe Pitts, OMI
Scripture offers us a wide variety of characters to ponder - those called to prophetic witness, those invited to roles of leadership, those filled with recognizable human weakness, those touched by Jesus' healing power.  Zachary, Elizabeth, Peter, John, Mary Magdalen, and you - especially you!  Join us for this engaging Day of Prayer - time apart to reconsider the experience of being called and loved by God.  Open to all: single, married, religious, clergy.  Fee: $30.

PAUL COUTINHO'S COMING BACK FOR TWO DATES

March 30 - "Power of the Passive Voice"
8:30 AM to 3:30 PM  Fee: $45

The great poet Homer was the first one to use the passive voice in his writings around 400 BCE.  He was impaired in his speech, hearing, and was blind.  He lived in a world of quiet vibrations that took him to places beyond the mind's imagination.
The passive voice is counter-culture and provides us that space where we will experience the Divine Essence and our true divine identity.  We will flow with the rhythm of life and experience peace and freedom in the midst of the chaos of our lives.

April 30 - "Launch Out Into the Deep"
8:30 AM to 3:30 PM  Fee: $45
Ships are safe in the harbor, but that's not why ships were built.  We need to constantly move out of our comfort zone if we want to live and not just exist - in our relationship with God, others, our pathway in life and our very selves.  When we pass through the storms of life we will be purified and enlightened.  But, like a good sailor, we will become addicted to the adventures in life.  We find our confidence in God who assures us: "When you pass through the waters...they will not overwhelm you.  When you walk through the fire you will not be consumed." (Is. 43)

"Coming Home: Conversion, Transformation, and a Spirituality of Compassion for Today"

Where's home?  Converted from what?  Transformed into what?  How can we be at home with God and still live an active, busy life in the world today?  What does conversion really
look like?  What is spirituality anyway, and what happens when it is "compassionate"?  Come and "soak your soul," with the possibility that you will leave a different person than when you came.
