2018 Captain’s Letter
Thank you for your efforts as a King’s House Parish Captain. The Ministry Team and I are grateful for your service as an ambassador for King’s House! I have been amazed time and again this year over your generosity and your commitment to furthering our mission here. With your help, we have set a goal of getting an additional 50 retreatants this coming year. The fall captains will notice that we are sending this out to all captains at the beginning of the year, as suggested at several captains meetings this fall. We will send you a follow-up in July.
P.S. If someone you know is interested in making a retreat, but is unable to come on your designated weekend, please encourage them to come a different time! The full 2018 schedule is in our retreat brochure, and on our website. We have also included two new dates this year: a mid-week Women’s Retreat on March 20-22 (right before Holy Week) and a Men’s retreat on September 7-9
Your group’s annual retreat is coming up, and to help you prepare, enclosed are your Captains’ Packet materials. Our 2018 retreat theme is “Called by Name to Belong”. We will explore what it means to be called, not as an anonymous body, but as a unique individual with a call to build up the Kingdom of God. We look forward to welcoming the members of your parish to experience the beauty of our home and the peacefulness that is hard to find in daily life. We welcome you and your invited guests to experience the warm hospitality of the King’s House.
We are excited to have Alana Suchman at the front desk to support your efforts. Please contact her, or our staff, if you have questions concerning registrations or retreat details.
A special request as you register people for your retreat: please ask for email addresses! King’s House is creating new ways to keep in touch with our Captains, retreatants, and parish offices. Email communications will save on paper, postage, and allow us to get information out in a timely manner. Space has been provided on the registration form for email addresses for each Captain, retreatant, and parish office. And, if you’d like to receive any of the enclosed materials (except the poster) via email, please contact us at Info@KingsRetreatCenter.org.
Retreat Donation: The retreat fee is collected with an anonymous envelope donation. This year’s retreat cost remains at $175 per person. If a retreatant can give more, it helps those who are unable to give the full amount. Inability to pay should not prevent anyone from attending a King’s House Retreat. All are welcome! Donations can now be accepted by credit card here at King’s House, in addition to the check or cash options.
Remember: your personal invitation and sharing your own experience are the most important tools you have! God’s grace works through your invitation. Thank you again for your service as Parish Captain. We look forward to seeing you!
In gratitude and the Lord’s peace,
Deacon Doug Boyer
King’s House Director
P.S. If someone you know is interested in making a retreat, but is unable to come on your designated weekend, please encourage them to come a different time! The full 2016 schedule is in our retreat brochure, and on our website.
