Dear Captain,
We have made it this far and there is light at the end of the tunnel!
While we are still under COVID-19 restrictions and or the moment, our retreats will have a limit of 37 people to guarantee social distancing in the house. I am feeling confident that our fall schedule will proceed as planned and maybe number restrictions so let us keep our fingers crossed. With more places opening up, I suspect demand will be great for retreats this fall, so please start a little earlier than usual this year with recruitment.
As always, if someone you know is interested in making a retreat, but is unable to come on your designated weekend, please encourage them to come a different time! The full 2021-2022 schedule is in our retreat brochure, and on our website.
Your group’s annual retreat is coming up, and to help you prepare, enclosed are your Captains’ Packet materials. Our 2021-2022 retreat theme is “Lazarus, Come Forth: Our Path to a Better Future”. We welcome you and your invited guests to experience the warm hospitality of the King’s House. I would also remind you that we would be delighted to have the priest(s) from your parish join us for dinner on Friday night. If you would let us know in advance, it will help with planning. Please contact our receptionist, if you have questions concerning registrations or retreat details.
If you’d like to receive any of the enclosed materials (except the poster) via email, please contact us at Info@KingsRetreatCenter.org.
Retreat Donation: The retreat fee is collected with an anonymous envelope donation. This year’s retreat cost is $185 per person. This is the first increase since before I arrived and our costs just keep creeping up. If a retreatant can give more, it helps those who are unable to give the full amount. Inability to pay should not prevent anyone from attending a King’s House Retreat. All are welcome! Donations can now be accepted by credit card here at King’s House, in addition to the check or cash options.
Remember: your personal invitation and sharing your own experience are the most important tools you have! God’s grace works through your invitation. Thank you again for your service as Parish Captain. We look forward to seeing you!
Jesus calls us to new life, to come forth from a difficult situation and experience unbinding and setting free.
In gratitude and the Lord’s peace,
Fr. Sal Gonzalez, OMI
King’s House Director
