This retreat will be held at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
Silent Directed Retreats—with group centering prayer experiences—are open to everyone; men
and women. The first directed retreat is designed so that you may adjust the length of your retreat
according to your personal schedule.
SCHEDULE—Directed retreats begin the first evening with 4:00 PM arrival and
registration, followed by a social gathering (first night only), orientation, and dinner.
The final day concludes with breakfast and 9:00 AM Celebration of the Eucharist.
WHAT IS A DIRECTED RETREAT? A primary way to hear the voice of God is through the
people and events of daily experience. In today’s culture it is important to have some space to
pause and reflect before moving on to the next event that seeks your attention. The goal of the
directed retreat experience is to allow you to go deeper into your relationship with God while
savoring what is happening in your life.
The retreat includes daily meetings with your own director and periods of personal prayer using
scripture. Applicants will be sent a response form in order to help the team select an appropriate
director for each directee. Optional periods for group centering prayer are provided each day.
Eucharist is celebrated each day and there is an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation
during the retreat.
This year we are introducing the option of commuting to your directed retreat. Commuting rate
includes all meals, prayer times, and daily meeting with a Spiritual Director (excluding lodging).
