Mothering Mercy; Enfleshing Peace: Day Of Prayer with Fr. James Alison

Come join us for an Advent Day of Prayer with Fr. James Alison as we ponder with the heart of Mary the Prince of Peace who was “knit together in his mother’s womb” so that God’s Mercy may be born(e) into our world and God’s Peace be enfleshed in our lives.

Conferences will be conducted via ZOOM, and for those attending this Day of Prayer here at King’s House, Lunch, Advent Vesper service, and 47 acres of beautiful grounds will also grace the day.

Day Of Prayer Thursday December 10, 2020 9am-5pm. Cost for the Day of prayer only: $40.00 including Lunch. Cost for Zoom link $25.00

Call us at 618-397-0584 to register and save your place.

James Alison is a British-born priest, theologian and author. James has spent much of his adult life working through the impact of the thought of René Girard on Christian Theology. This has led him to develop a new paradigm, both fresh and orthodox, for Christianity 101, which he has taught all over the world. The basic resource for this is Jesus the Forgiving Victim  In addition, James is known for having gently but firmly stood up for the way that basic Christianity obviously includes LGBT folk long before that stance became as mainstream as it is now. James has lived in Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, the US, his native England. He now lives in Madrid, Spain.

King’s House Retreat and Renewal Center Communication Regarding Reopening to Groups July 3, 2020

On July 6, 2020 King’s House will safely open its door to retreatants.

Dear friends and retreatants of King’s House,

It has been over three months since we were able to welcome you into our house! Know that we have missed every one of you. Our house is not a home without you.

The staff at King’s House has reviewed our re-opening safety procedures, we have met various times as a team and are now happy to announce that we will be able to welcome you back effective July 6, 2020.

As we open our doors and welcome you back, it is important for your safety and peace of mind, and that of our staff, that we implement the following protocols. Some of these apply to each person in a group and others apply to the coordinators with whom we work to plan your retreat or meeting.

Please note: Retreatants will be required to wear masks to enter the building, during all public services, and while in all common areas of the house. If a retreatant has a condition that will not allow them to wear a mask, please do not come on retreat during this time. Wearing masks protects others and yourself.

If you have any questions, you may reach me at (618) 397-0584 or Mr. Richard Dahm Business Manager (618 397-0584).

Please stay healthy, practice social distancing, wear a mask when in public and let’s look out for one another.

Welcome back!

Fr. Salvador Gonzalez, OMI and Staff at King’s House Retreat Center
